For those of you who don't know, the Abortion Gang is a group of young women (and maybe men? I don't know all of them yet ;)) who blog about reproductive justice. We're here to show the world that young women do care about reproductive rights, and that we're not just sitting here idly while our rights are taken away.
If you have time, check out my new post for the Abortion Gang. It's about how my heart is in reproductive rights, and why I'm so dedicated to repro rights. There are a lot of great posts and great bloggers on the Abortion Gang, so you should check out the other posts, too!

Due to constant spam and derailing coming from a few antis, I am now making this blog a "safe place". This does not mean that I won't allow opposing views. It means that I'm not longer going to allow hateful or unrelated/spammy comments. This will continue on until the anti-choice spammers get bored with harassing me and the people who post here, and is especially relevant when it comes to the topic of rape. I hope this doesn't deter any respectful people from commenting. :)

Wanted to point out another Freudian slip you made on your Abortion Gang post:
ReplyDelete"They tell me that I just want to kill “babies”. Nothing good be farther from the truth."
Very telling. . .
Oh jeez, I made a typo. Because anti-choicers never make typos.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's "telling" when a person makes a typo that renders the sentence incomprehensible.
ReplyDeleteI notice much of your post is along the lines of how much you are a victim of folks you say smear you. You claim they say things like you hate babies and all that. But those are the same folks you repeatedly accuse over and over again, of being rape apologists and of hating women, to put it mildly. Then turn around and play victim card, that you were smeared and all that, when you did much of the smearings yourself, provoked those responses, and those words you called smears were your own rhetoric turned around and used on you.
ReplyDeleteYou were not a victim in this case whatsoever.
Yes, you were a victim of assault by a guy.
But not in the case of your claims you got smeared. You got what you give.
If I remember correctly, PCG owns this blog and posts her opinions based on her experiences. Anti-choicers decided to enter the lions den and didn't like what they read. Instead of leaving, you and your ilk engaged in a petty argument which involved throwing around personal attacks and outrageous judgments motivated by hatred. If you felt personally attacked by PCG, you could have said whatever you wanted and left, making sure to never again visit such a horrible person's blog. You didn't. You came back, over, and over, and over again.
ReplyDelete"If I remember correctly, PCG owns this blog and posts her opinions based on her experiences. Anti-choicers decided to enter the lions den and didn't like what they read."
ReplyDeleteNot honest of you. PCG entered into prolife blogs trashing folks right and left over and over playing card of them being rape apologists, etc.
"Instead of leaving, you and your ilk engaged in a petty argument which involved throwing around personal attacks and outrageous judgments motivated by hatred."
Again not honest of you. And not only not honest of you, but also super hypocritical of you as well.
Her own words were thrown right back at her. If you consider those words to be hateful, petty, persoanl attakcs, etc. when thrown back at her as responses to what she actually said, yet play card of how innocent victim she is all of that, you are sooooo intellectually dishonest and pretty hypocriitcal, too (since those were her own words, that you deemed hateful and petty and so on, that were used back on her). It is along the lines of do what your side says, not do what your side do.
And funny thing- when you can't win the argument, play rape apologist and women-hating card on others and accuse folks of being anti-choice as if has any real value to the debate. It does not. It only shows your side engages in petty arguments and personal attacks motivated by hatred.
So if anybody is doing what you accused folks of doing, it's those like you and others on your side of the debate.
We are no more anti-choice than your side is, given your side opposes choices, too, if those choices are those you disagree with and see as criminal or violations of your or someone else's rights.
I mean anyone can play anti-choice card on others so to make a case for themselves- even if they are morally wrong- like those who oppose right to enslave othere are anti-choice, those who oppose choice to murder or rape others, etc., are anti-choice. It is silly argument and anyone can use it.
"If you felt personally attacked by PCG, you could have said whatever you wanted and left, making sure to never again visit such a horrible person's blog."
I didn't feel personally attacked by PCG. I simply pointed out why PCG got what she got. She gave what she got.
There is a wisdom in the saying, "don't dish out what you can't take in return."
That goes for prolifers. That goes for proabortionists.
I was simply giving an advice: don't play the victim card when you bait and bait many folks into responding in that heated manner deliberately and intentionally in the way you want them to so you can use that to bash them. It's very much on the person who does the baiting.
"You didn't. You came back, over, and over, and over again."
I have been here a few times. How is that coming back over and over and over again?
There are tons of posters that post as anon here who object to what PCG did on other blogs then come here and play victim card. I am not the only one.
And another case of do what those on your side say, not do what those on your side do. How many times has PCG come into prolife blogs, which she says promote rape? Over and over and over again.
And one more thing...I don't consider PCG to be a horrible human being. I consider PCG as a person who promotes a bad cause and has strongly opinonated views, that at times (many times, in fact) cross the line in debate, but does not have the thick skin yet to take what she dishes out (given her remarks about feeling attacks forgetting the attacks she dished out that led to them).
ReplyDeleteIn a way, I do respect her for being herself and being so bold. And I do respect the fact she fights for what she believes and I do highly respect she is a fighter after all she has been through. In those ways, she is an example for the rest of us, regardless of what issues we stand on.
I like how you're telling me I'm not being honest when I just said I was relying on my memory. And I don't it's a lie that this is PCG's blog and anti-choicers came here to comment, unless I'm living in an alternate universe.
ReplyDeleteHer own words were thrown right back at her.
This makes absolutely no sense. You can't call me a hypocrite based on something someone else said. I'm coming from your point of view here. If you found her comments to be hateful, you responded with equal hatred. You said yourself that you're using the same words, which you consider to be insulting, on her. So you either weren't insulted, or you didn't care about being insulted as long as you were able to insult her back. And by "you" I mean all the Anonymous posters, since it doesn't seem like any of the anti-choicers who come here want anyone to know who they are, not even with a silly pseudonym without a URL accompanying. So if you don't want to set yourself apart from the rest of the Anonymous antis who come here, I'll lump you all together.
I was simply giving an advice: don't play the victim card when you bait and bait many folks into responding in that heated manner deliberately and intentionally in the way you want them to so you can use that to bash them. It's very much on the person who does the baiting.
And my advice is to leave when you feel insulted. There's no point in engaging in a discussion with someone who won't listen to you or who insults you, correct? There are a bunch of comments from antis that I didn't respond to, because I didn't feel it was worth talking to people who were being petty and not listening. There comes a time to end the conversation, instead of playing the blame game. You're "playing the victim" now, if you want to use that terminology, by putting the blame on others for the fact that you keep coming here. There's no baiting if nobody's there to bite. You're biting.
And I was joking when a said that PCG was a horrible person. I don't think that, and I wasn't saying that you thought that.
